A hilltop shrine about 20 km from Wai, standing at roughly 4,650 feet and held to be over four centuries old though no firm construction date is recorded. Its ten-day Kalubai Jatra each January draws more than 300,000 pilgrims, and the site became widely known after a fatal stampede there in 2005.
Local tradition holds that the goddess defeated demons at this hill, an event still marked by the sacrificial offerings of the annual jatra, and devotees credit the grove around the shrine with miraculous properties.
