मणि महेश यात्रा
Bharmour, Chamba, Himachal Pradesh · 32.3950°, 76.6373°
A glacial lake at about 4,080 m below the Manimahesh Kailash peak, held sacred to Shiva and second only to Lake Manasarovar in regional esteem. Its annual Manimahesh Yatra draws large numbers of Gaddi and other Hindu pilgrims.
Shiva is said to have performed centuries of penance here, the lake forming from waters that sprang out of his matted hair.
