History & significance

Described as the only temple anywhere dedicated to Kaushalya, who is shown holding the infant Rama, at Chandkhuri about 27 km from Raipur. Damaged and rebuilt repeatedly, it was renovated in 1973 and rededicated in October 2021 as the centrepiece of the Ram Van Gaman Path circuit through the old Dandakaranya country.
