A Shiva temple at Tharuvana in the Wayanad hills, some 800 m above sea level, which also houses Arayil Bhagavathy, Durga, Nandi, Ayyappa and Ganapathi. Its name means the place where the axe fell.
Shiva is said to have hurled his axe at Krishna during their quarrel over Banasura's kingdom; where it fell, Parashurama built this temple.
