A Meenakshi temple at Pallassana in Palakkad district, whose present shrine and adjoining tank took shape over some four centuries. Its walls are set so that their shadow never falls on the ground.
A stone carried from Chidambaram by the Veerasaiva Mannadiar clan is said to have become immovable when set down under a palm-leaf umbrella here, taken as a sign that Meenakshi had chosen the spot.
