A Bhagavathi shrine at Vazhappally in Changanassery completed under the Thekkumkur kings and now administered by the Travancore Devaswom Board. Its image stands over six feet tall, unusually large for a Kerala temple, and the three-day Meena Bharani festival is its principal celebration.
The goddess is said to have settled at this spot after destroying the demon Darika.
