History & significance

A Mariamman temple at Tiruvappur in Thirukokarnam, about 5 km from Pudukkottai, where the goddess is enshrined seated behind a front mandapa, flagstaff and bali peetam. Its prakara also holds shrines to Meenakshi of Madurai and Kamatchi of Kanchipuram, and the Fridays of Aadi draw the largest crowds.
