An archaeological Buddhist temple at Muwangala near Hingurana in the Ampara District, protected as an archaeological site since 26 December 2014. A third-century inscription there records a grant to the temple by a viceroy named Kodini, and the remains include a stupa, a drip-ledged cave, an asanaghara, Buddha-footprint slabs, moonstone fragments, building bases and pillars.
