A Shiva temple at Nagore with a rajagopuram and an inner prakaram carrying shrines to Rahu, Dakshinamurti, Vinayaka and Murugan; it is one of the serpent-associated Shiva shrines of the Kaveri delta, and Maha Shivaratri, Pradosham and Karthika Deepam are observed here.
The sthala purana holds that Vasuki and other sacred serpents came to worship at this and three other snake temples, and that the deity appeared here as a self-manifested lingam beneath a punnai tree; townspeople say snakes do not bite anyone in Nagore.
