A west-facing Narasimha temple about sixty feet high standing between the Gundicha temple and the Indradyumna tank at Puri, laid out on Vaishnava Agama principles and housing both the calm and the wrathful images of the deity.
The Skanda Purana tells that king Indradyumna had a Narasimha image carved in black stone and worshipped it here while preparing his Ashwamedha sacrifice, whence the deity is called Yajna Narasimha.
