History & significance

A pilgrimage complex of nine Narasimha shrines spread over Upper and Lower Ahobilam in the Nallamala hills, revered as a canonical Divya Desam sung in the Periya Tirumoli. Its temples took their present form under Vijayanagara patronage, notably of the Saluva and Tuluva dynasties including Krishnadevaraya.
