History & significance

A Shiva temple at Pali in Lalitpur district built around an unusual three-headed image of the god. It draws a large fair on Maha Shivaratri, when devotees process to the shrine.

Sthala katha — the legend

Local belief holds that the three-headed image emerged from the mountain of its own accord and the temple was raised around it.
