A Shaiva complex at Panagal in Nalgonda district dating to the eleventh or twelfth century, probably built under the Kunduru Chodas and the Kakatiya ruler Prataparudra I. Four shrines open off a large rectangular mandapam carried on seventy carved pillars illustrating stories of Shiva and Vishnu, and the Panagal Museum, opened on the premises in 1982, holds around 640 antiquities.
Legend says a large and brilliant emerald once lay beneath the lingam and was carried off during raids on the region.
