A rock-cut cave temple about 33 km from Pudukkottai, dated by its inscriptions to the 7th–8th century and housing a reclining Vishnu; it is paired at the same site with a Shiva cave temple and is maintained by the Archaeological Survey of India. Its dvarapalas are unusual in having only two arms.
The sage Dhivakara Maharishi is said to have done penance here for Vishnu's grace, and the deity, called Kan Thirantha Perumal, is believed to cure ailments of the eyes.
