Parumala, Pathanamthitta district, Kerala · 9.3323°, 76.5372°
Set on an island in the Pamba at Parumala, this is reckoned one of the three foremost Bhadrakali temples of Kerala and also counts among the 108 Shiva temples of the state; it is referred to in classical Malayalam literature.
Tradition holds that Parashurama installed the Shiva image here, and that the sages Durvasa and Narada installed the goddess in the Treta Yuga.
