History & significance

A Shiva temple about 3 km from Pandalam town, where the deity is worshipped in a benign aspect with Parvati seated on his lap. It is counted among the 108 Shiva temples of Kerala.

Sthala katha — the legend

Tradition holds that Parashurama installed the sanctum image and that the sage Khara Muni consecrated the shrine as one of 108 Shiva temples.
