A Vaishnava temple in Pattambi taluk whose presiding image is Varaha seated with the earth goddess Bhumi, an unusual dedication in Kerala. It is counted among the 108 Abhimana Kshetrams of the Vaishnava tradition.
Temple tradition credits its founding to Parashurama, who is said to have raised Kerala from the sea, and tells of the master carpenter Perumthachan leaving his tools behind here.
