A pilgrimage site at the foot of Trikut Hill in Subarnapur district, revered as the place where the Jagannath images were hidden for safekeeping and drawing together Shakta, Buddhist and Vaishnava strands of worship. The hill also carries evidence of prehistoric settlement, giving the site archaeological as well as devotional weight.
The Madala Panji relates that King Sovanadeva concealed the images in the caves of Trikut Hill during Raktavahu's invasion, where they stayed 144 years until King Yayati Keshari recovered them.
