History & significance

One of the 108 Shiva temples of Kerala and among the oldest in Thrissur district, at Perakam village, with a round sreekovil set within a nalambalam alongside a thidappalli and mandapam. Maha Shivaratri is its chief festival.

Sthala katha — the legend

Folklore holds that the sage Parashurama installed the Shiva image at Perakam.
