A nine-storey stupa 80 m high on a square base of 50 m at Wat Nong Waeng beside the Kaen Nakhon marsh in Khon Kaen, raised to mark the Golden Jubilee of King Bhumibol Adulyadej and the bicentenary of the province, and modelled on Phra That Kham Kaen. The wat itself was founded in 1789 by Thao Pia Mueang Pan, was left as the old town when the city moved in 1811, and was approved as a royal temple in 1984.
