One of the few temples anywhere dedicated to Prathyangira, and said to be the only one enshrining her peaceful Shanta form; it stands between the Buckingham Canal and the Bay of Bengal in south Chennai. Devotees seek the goddess as a counter to witchcraft, and free homas are performed on special occasions.
