History & significance

A Shiva temple in Thirumalairayanpattinam, the settlement founded as the seat of Saluva Thirumalairayan, a fifteenth-century Vijayanagara representative in the Karaikal region. Its prakara carries sculptures of the sixty-three Nayanmars.
