History & significance

A Kagyu monastery six kilometres from Ravangla in South Sikkim, founded in 1768 and rebuilt between 1975 and 1981, with the new Palchen Choeling Monastic Institute completed in 1995 by the twelfth Gyaltsab Rinpoche. It holds an extensive collection of paintings and thangkas, and the older Karma Rabtenling monastery still stands nearby.
