A temple to Rama whose central object of worship is a pair of footprint impressions, run by the Bari Sangat monastic succession over more than twenty generations. Archaeological finds excavated at the site are held in the Patna Museum, and Rama Navami is its principal festival.
Local tradition holds that Rama halted here on his way to Janakpur, leaving the footprints, and that his first head-shaving ceremony was performed at the spot.
