The largest temple in India dedicated to Rani Sati, a Rajasthani woman said to have lived between the 13th and 17th centuries. It is built of white marble and decorated with wall paintings, murals and glass mosaic work.
Tradition holds that Rani Sati was a rebirth of Narayani Devi, who avenged her husband Tandhan's killing by a king before immolating herself on his pyre.
