A hilltop shrine to Murugan at Thirumanikundru in Ranipet district, attested by the 14th-century poet Arunagirinathar, in keeping with the old maxim that wherever there is a hill there is Murugan. Its principal observances are Adi Krittikai, Kanda Shashti, Navaratri and Panguni Uttiram.
