A goddess shrine beside a hill lake at Satyawati in Palpa District, about 30 km south of Tansen and 19 km north of Butwal, revered by the Magar community as their own deity and reached on a foot trail from the Jhumsa bridge on the Siddhartha Highway.
What follows is the temple’s own traditional account, transmitted through liturgy and local memory. It is recorded here as tradition, not as attested history.
On the night of the festival the goddess is said to grant the wishes of pilgrims who walk three times round the lake and call their wish aloud.
