A Digambara Jain temple at Ramtek dated to the eleventh or twelfth century and built of yellow sandstone in the northern Indian manner. Further shrines were added to the complex in the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries by an official of the Bhonsle court at Nagpur, and it has since hosted several chaturmas retreats of Acharya Vidyasagar.
