A Dravidian-style Shiva temple in the hill village of Sivasailam, about three miles from Alwarkurichi in Tenkasi district, where the god is worshipped as Sivasailanathar with the goddess Paramakalyani. Its stone inscriptions record gifts by King Ravivarman and local zamindars.
Legend says a landlord's cows stopped yielding milk and instead gathered on a hill and flooded a rock with it, whereupon a shivalingam appeared there.
