History & significance

A matha of the Shankaracharya sampradaya at Rathagada Chowk in old Bhubaneswar, its precinct holding pidha-order shrines in the Kalinga manner. It has a formal role in the Lingaraja temple's festival calendar.

Sthala katha — the legend

Tradition holds that Lingaraja himself comes to this matha to take the community meal during Dola Purnima.
