History & significance

A living Shiva temple within the Kharakhia Baidyanath precinct in old Bhubaneswar, dated on architectural grounds to the tenth or eleventh century. It pairs a rekha deul vimana with a pidha deul jagamohana and enshrines a lingam in a circular yonipitha, with Shivaratri, Sankranti and Mahavishuva Sankranti observed.
