An archaeological Buddhist temple at Mayadunna in Gonagolla village, Ampara District, protected as an archaeological site since 10 October 2014. Its remains include a stupa, Buddha-footprint slabs, fragments of moonstones, building bases, pillars and a rock inscription — footprint slabs being among the objects used to represent the Buddha before statues of him were made.
