An east-facing Sastha temple at Thakazhy in Alappuzha district, six kilometres from Ambalappuzha, unusual in having no subsidiary deities. Worship follows Manayathattu tantric rites with five daily pujas, and the temple is known for Valiyenna, a medicinal oil prepared from Othar hill.
Parasurama is said to have installed the idol on Othera hill, from where a flood carried it to a farm; an Odiyan who found it gave it to Vilwamangalam Swami, the sage Udhayarkkan consecrated it, and the King of Chembakassery raised the temple around it.
