One of the best-known Bhagavathi temples of central Travancore, at Thattayil near Adoor, reckoned about twelve centuries old and built in traditional Kerala style. Its annual festival features the Thookkam hook-swinging offering, and the precinct holds subsidiary shrines to Ganesha, Krishna, the naga deities, Yogeeshwaran and others.
