History & significance

One of the eleven Divya Desams at Thirunangur, with Varadharaja Perumal presiding; it is noted as the only Nangur shrine praised by Alvars besides Thirumangai.

Here too tradition tells of Krishna appearing as Parthasarathy to instruct Arjuna, who dug the temple tank.
