A Shiva temple near Veeravanallur in Tirunelveli district, one of only three shrines to have the marudhu tree as its sthala vriksham. In a sacred triad it represents Shiva's foot, with Srisailam as the head and Thiruvidaimarudur as the body, and its Theerthavaari festival falls at Thaipoosam in the month of Thai.
King Surendra is said to have built the temple after Shiva granted him the Brahmadand, still kept inside, and sent him to the Himalayas in search of an image of Gomathi.
