A shrine to the poet-saint Valluvar and his consort Vasuki on M. K. Amman Street in Mylapore, Chennai, standing inside the larger Ekambareswarar temple complex. Believed to have been built in the early sixteenth century, it was extensively renovated in the 1970s and has sanctums, a pillared maha mantapam, a shikhara and circumambulatory corridors.
Valluvar is traditionally said to have been born beneath the iluppai tree in this compound, where his foster parents found him and took him in.
