History & significance

One of Kerala's five principal Rama temples, known to the English as the Brass Pagoda for its copper-sheeted roof. It stood as an outpost of Thalassery fort, was damaged during Tipu Sultan's eighteenth-century campaigns, and hosted talks between East India Company officers and local chiefs.
