History & significance

A Vishnu temple in the Chennai suburb of Poonamallee, reckoned about a thousand years old and linked with the Vaishnava acharya Thirukatchi Nambi. Its Chola-period tank of over an acre long watered the surrounding paddy fields and supplied the town with domestic water.
