A shrine on the Tirumala hill held to be older than the Venkateswara temple beside it and renovated by Pedda Tirumalacharya in 1535. Pilgrims are enjoined to take darshan of Varaha before Venkateswara, without which the Tirumala pilgrimage is not counted complete; it is administered by the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams.

Having lifted the earth clear of the demon Hiranyaksha, Varaha is said to have settled on this hill, and at the opening of the Kali age to have granted land here to Venkateswara at his request.
