History & significance

A 70-foot Shiva temple at Sohagpur built by the Kalachuri ruler Yuvarajadeva II as a gift to the acharya of the Golaki Matha, and among the best known buildings of the Kalachuri period. It is protected by the Archaeological Survey of India, and the Banganga fair has been held in its courtyard since 1895.
