One of the very few Indian temples where Yama, the god of death, is the presiding deity, located at Thiruchitrambalam in Thanjavur district. Its precinct also holds shrines to Chitragupta, Pambatti Siddhar, Ayyanar and Karuppu Sami.
Kamadeva is said to have been burnt to ashes by Shiva nearby and restored to life at this spot at Yama's intercession.
