A temple near Hampi raised in 1524 by Krishnadevaraya in memory of his dead son, its long rectangular sanctuary entered through triple doorways under a vaulted roof some 24 metres high. It falls within the Group of Monuments at Hampi, inscribed as a World Heritage Site in 1986.
The image is said to have been carried here under an injunction not to look back; when the guide broke it, the figure would move no further and stayed at Holalu.
