भोजेश्वर मन्दिर
Bhojpur, Raisen, Madhya Pradesh · 23.1003°, 77.5800°
An unfinished 11th-century Shiva temple attributed to the Paramara king Bhoja, housing a 7.5-foot linga. Because work stopped, the site preserves architectural drawings, mason marks and quarry remains that document medieval temple construction in unusual detail.
Merutunga's Prabandha-Chintamani has King Bhoja describing to the poet Magha the Bhojasvamin temple he intended to raise in Malwa, though the two men lived centuries apart.
