A Ganesha temple about 7 km south-west of Ujjain across the Kshipra, dating in its present form to the Paramara rule over Malwa in the 11th and 12th centuries. Its image is revered as swayambhu, self-manifested, and the assembly hall is carried on finely carved stone pillars.
Local tradition holds that Sita established the shrine during the age of the Ramayana.
