A small Chandela shrine on the bank of the Khajuraho Sagar, part of the UNESCO World Heritage group, built of granite rather than the sandstone of most Khajuraho temples and so read as transitional between the two materials. Only the sanctum and its sandstone shikhara survive; the temple is misnamed, since worshippers took its four-faced Shiva lingam for an image of the four-faced Brahma.
