The last of the Chandela temples at Khajuraho, standing by the Khodar river and dedicated to Shiva, whose name means 'holy bridegroom'. It is a nirandhara temple on the seven-chariot plan, one of the twenty-two Shiva shrines of the group inscribed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1986.
