A 16th-century Vaishnava temple of the Vijayanagara period at the confluence town of T. Narasipura, with a gopura over its gate and a four-pillared mantapa. It was maintained by annual grants from the Dalavoys of Mysore, repaired under the British Raj according to B. Lewis Rice, and is now an ASI-protected monument.
It is said locally that the place outweighs Kashi in sanctity by the weight of a single gunja berry, the berry of the tree at the temple entrance from which the deity takes his name.
