The principal bathing ghat of Haridwar, at the point where the Ganga leaves the mountains for the plains. It is the ritual centre of the city's Kumbh Mela and of the daily evening Ganga aarti, and tradition credits its construction to King Vikramaditya.
The pool here, Brahmakund, is said to be where Garuda let fall drops of the nectar of immortality.
