A two-acre Shaiva complex at Villianur whose origins lie in the 12th century, with additions by the later Cholas and the Vijayanagara empire and a present masonry structure of the 16th century; Raja Narayana Sambuvarayar, who ruled 1339 to 1363, was a major donor. Concentric granite walls enclose its shrines, and the Aadi-month Brahmotsavam is the chief festival.
